The heads are forged from fine grain, carbon steel, that’s been correctly hardened and tempered for added strength and finished with a black protective coating. The hickory shaft is such a good absorber of shock waves, that when the hammer is used the shock waves produced from the hammer blows dissipate, making the handle extremely comfortable and providing a great everyday hammer.
